In 1968 I left Further Education College and started an Electronic Engineering Degree course at Brighton College of Technology.

Within a couple of months I met my wife-to-be, Sue, who was a student at the University of Sussex.

Here are some pictures showing our life at College and University in Brighton.

Here is Sue in Puddletown Forest in Dorset during a visit we made to her family.

The students on my course at Brighton College built a raft and entered it in the Rag Week raft race between the two piers on Brighton seafront. We assembled the raft at the college and tested it in the cooling ponds under the main building. This is Sue and me during the preparations at the college.

This is me after the race with some friends. We didn't win the race - one of the rafts was swept out to sea and the crew rescued by helicopter.

Sue and me in the garden of the flat I shared with two other students on my course. We are supposed to be revising for our end of year exams.

Inside the flat with the empty bottles and dodgy posters you might expect in a student flat.

At the end of my second year Sue moved in to the flat - we did do some work occasionally.

Taken during a walk on the South Downs near Brighton.
